Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing contract negotiations and trading activities between suppliers and customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customer tenders and inquiries, negotiating contract terms, administering and maintaining contracts, coordinating shipping and delivery, overseeing payment settlements, and providing after-sales support.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with customers and suppliers, as well as coordinate with shipping companies, freight forwarders, warehouses, and logistics providers. Interaction with government departments and agencies, along with other service providers such as travel agencies and hotels, will also be key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and Finalize Trade Deals
    • Negotiate and finalize trade deals with management oversight; confirm and negotiate new orders, and coordinate delivery schedules with suppliers.
    • Respond to trade inquiries, verify product availability and pricing with suppliers, track shipping progress, and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Resolve Trade Issues
    • Resolve trade issues promptly with customers and suppliers; assist with sea freight insurance claims and manage risks related to currency fluctuations and payment terms.
  • Organize Import and Export Clearance
    • Organize import and export clearance with customs agents, manage costs related to clearance, wharfage, and storage, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Support Trade Development Efforts
    • Support trade development efforts, prepare offers, proposals, and tenders, and maintain and update trade contract records.
  • Oversee Stock Management
    • Oversee stock management including forecasts, pricing, order quantities, and reconciliation; manage stock requests, issue delivery instructions, and generate trade reports.
  • Handle Trade-Related Accounts
    • Handle trade-related accounts and documentation, including accounts receivable/payable, shipping documents, account statements, currency conversions, and arrange travel for international trade visitors.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification or part qualification in International Trade or a related business field is a plus.
  • Completion of Business Administration or import/export documentation course preferred.
  • Experience in trading, importing, and exporting is advantageous.
  • Essential: Administrative support experience for management or teams.
  • SAP experience is a bonus.
