Job Title: Managing Consultant – Contaminated Land

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Consultant to join our Contaminated Land team in Newcastle East. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading fieldwork programs, supervising subcontractors and ERM personnel, and undertaking environmental assessments and remediation works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise fieldwork programs, including subcontractors and ERM personnel on site
  • Undertake environmental assessments and remediation works involving the collection of field data (soil, soil gas/vapour, groundwater)
  • Prepare complex technical reports in accordance with relevant guidelines and legislation
  • Manage electronic data and produce borelogs and summary tables
  • Assist with the preparation of client proposals
  • Support project managers through planning and delivering field programs and/or budget/task management
Requirements:
  • 5-8 years' experience in contaminated site management consulting
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental engineering, soil science or other related science subject degree)
  • Leadership and coordination of field programs, including mentoring of junior colleagues
  • Proven report writing skills and experience in supervising and managing sub-contractors on site
  • Competency in preliminary and detailed site investigation and sampling techniques involving data collection (soil, water, soil vapour, etc.)
  • Project management experience, including proposal and project budget development, client and external stakeholder engagement, allocation and management of tasks to meet agreed timelines
  • Willingness to travel and authorized to work full-time in Australia
