Fleet Maintenance Leadership

The Queensland Fire Department is seeking a highly experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our Fleet Maintenance Unit. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong technical and leadership skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fire appliances and associated equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing the maintenance and repair of fire appliances and associated equipment. They will also provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to specialist technicians, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

We are looking for an individual who possesses a trade certification qualification as an Engineering Trades Person Level 1 (motor mechanic) Heavy Vehicle Stream or equivalent experience, with a proven track record in managing a mechanical workshop and staff. A current Medium Rigid drivers' licence or ability to attain prior to appointment is also essential.

  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet maintenance workshop
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to specialist technicians
  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance and repair records
  • Prepare and review reports, briefs, and submissions on fleet-related matters
