  • An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled finance leader to join our team in Central West Queensland. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a capable finance team, ensuring the delivery of core financial operations while providing mentorship and guidance.
">About the Role">

This is a hands-on, operational role where you will oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, as well as managing day-to-day finance operations.

You will also have the opportunity to coach and mentor team members, improve financial literacy and decision-making, and contribute to business plans, cost-benefit analyses, and long-term financial strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership presence, proven ability to guide and empower teams, and high-level financial acumen with the ability to problem-solve and challenge assumptions.

In addition, you will bring strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with executive leadership and Councillors/boards, and experience working within or supporting local/state government service delivery.

About You">

To be successful in this role, you will need a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance, along with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar finance leadership role.

A CA or CPA qualification is highly regarded but not essential.

The following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience working within or supporting local/state government service delivery
