Job Overview

We provide support services to at-risk children, young people and their families who have both mental health challenges and offending behaviours.

The Role

Our team is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Aboriginal Mental Health Worker to support Aboriginal children, young people and their families in the community or in detention centres.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide social, emotional, cultural and/or mental health support to young people and their families through a case management model.
  • Contribute to and enhance the provision of mental health assessments and relevant interventions within a multidisciplinary environment.
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV, Diploma or Bachelor in Mental Health or progression to formal qualifications in Mental Health.
  • Aboriginality is an essential requirement for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with addiction or mental health with young people.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position.
