Job Summary

The Lead Sentence Management Professional oversees daily operations, supporting the Manager in performing sentence management tasks as required.

To ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures for lawful detention of prisoners, quality assurance and governance oversight are integral to this role.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, manage performance, training, and development, and analyse trends and workloads for adequate resource allocation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team using effective human resource management processes.
  • Work under pressure, meeting deadlines, responding to unexpected events, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Prior experience in the criminal justice environment is preferred or similar work experience demonstrating exposure to governed systems.
  • Maintain governance and oversight systems, utilising information to support service delivery and performance metrics.
  • Develop strong written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail in report preparation and presentation.
  • Engage staff through coaching, mentoring, and development, conducting difficult conversations and negotiations effectively.
