About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As an Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker, you will play a critical role in supporting the safety and well-being of Aboriginal children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with parents, family members, children, and young people to develop and implement safety plans and risk assessments.
  • Provide home visits and support to families to address safety and well-being concerns.
  • Manage complex cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Participate in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the Aboriginal community, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred.
  • Applicants without a relevant qualification require at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A paid working with children clearance number.
