About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Aboriginal Health Worker to join our team at Central Coast Local Health District. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team, you will play a vital role in providing culturally sensitive care navigation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide service navigation support to help families navigate mental health issues and connect them with the right resources.
  • Enhance engagement and access to CAMHS through telephone, telehealth, or in-person interactions in hospital and community settings.
  • Offer cultural consultation to our non-Aboriginal workforce, guiding them to deliver culturally safe and responsive care.
  • Increase the delivery of culturally appropriate services, making a significant impact on the well-being of Aboriginal children and families.
About You

We are looking for a proud Aboriginal person who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people. You will have a strong understanding of the cultural needs of our community and be able to draw upon your experience, knowledge, and connections to support our clients.
