About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Workplace Relations and Employment Lawyer to join our team at Law Staff. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert advice on a broad range of matters, including employment agreements, enterprise agreements, general protection issues, and workplace health and safety risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on employment law matters, including drafting and advising on employment agreements and contracts;
  • Draft and advise on enterprise agreements;
  • Provide guidance on general protection issues, including unfair dismissal proceedings, unlawful terminations, discrimination, workplace harassment, and bullying claims;
  • Assist with workplace health and safety risk management advice and prosecution defence work;
  • Provide advice on restraint of trade issues.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience within a workplace relations and employment law group;
  • Admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland;
  • Eligibility or enrolment to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia;
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Industrial Relations Act 1999, Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), Work Health and Safety Act 2011, and Public Service Act 2008;
  • Exceptional drafting skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills of a high professional standard;
  • A high level of commercial acumen and the ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a team environment.
