Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Monitor and analyze Portfolio performance against budgeted KPI's
  • Develop and implement Underwriting strategies to improve Portfolio performance
  • Coach and mentor Underwriters to improve their skills and knowledge
  • Assist in the development and execution of agreed Product Strategy
  • Monitor Underwriter adherence to agreed Product Underwriting Process
  • Facilitate multi-line opportunities as appropriate

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Commercial experience in insurance, coupled with relevant qualifications
  • Commercial Property underwriting experience in insurance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio, underwriting and pricing practices and policies
  • Understanding of relevant Insurance products, industry, market environment, reinsurance structures and customer segment
  • Ability to underwrite at an advanced level in accordance with Risk Appetite, Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA), Underwriting Guidelines and Business Licence
