About the Role

The Student Engagement Librarian is a key position within the Library Student Engagement Team, responsible for designing, planning, and delivering student-focused events and activities. This role will support the Team Leader, Library Student Engagement, in strengthening student wellbeing, connection, and belonging.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a highly engaging program of activities, including orientation events, to support student wellbeing and engagement with the Library.
  • Manage event operations, including venue preparation, room bookings, event materials, promotions, participant organisation, and attendee communications.
  • Support the Team Leader in overseeing student Library Peer Mentors, including scheduling and timesheet verification.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of events and activities, gathering student and staff feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Library matrix to develop and deliver a well-balanced suite of student services, events, and activities.
  • Represent the team on relevant Library committees.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering successful events and activities, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders to coordinate events, leveraging event promotions and technology for streamlined processes.
  • A passion for student engagement and wellbeing.
  • Ability to be flexible and think creatively, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to interpret educational frameworks and develop tailored educational programs.
  • Ability to analyse data and deliver reviews and reports with evidence-driven insights and recommendations.
