Job Opportunity

This is a senior-level role within a Federal Government department focused on enhancing Australia's cyber resilience through the application of artificial intelligence.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in AI-driven cyber defence strategies, machine learning integration into enterprise systems, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leaders.

  • Lead the development and implementation of AI-driven cyber security solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and integrate machine learning capabilities into existing systems.
  • Provide strategic advice on AI ethics, governance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Represent the agency in inter-agency forums on AI and cyber security.

Requirements:

Applicants must have proven experience applying AI/ML in cyber security environments, along with strong knowledge of threat intelligence, intrusion detection, and incident response. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are also essential.

Australian citizenship and NV1 or higher security clearance are required for this Canberra-based (hybrid) role.
