**Job Overview**: Food Technology Teacher Role at Broadmeadows Special Developmental School

At our school, we provide educational programs for students with intellectual disability who may also have sensory, physical impairments and autism spectrum disorder.

The ideal candidate will have teaching skills and knowledge of curriculum to enable the implementation of individual learning plans that assist students with an intellectual disability to achieve positive outcomes.

The teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning, monitor and assess student learning data, and use this data to inform teaching for improved student learning.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement a food technology program for students with intellectual disabilities.
  • Work with a team of educators, therapists, and parents to develop individualized learning plans for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching decisions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching and learning practices.

**Requirements:**

  • Demonstrated teaching skills and knowledge of curriculum.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and develop constructive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver a food technology program.
