We are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to deliver an innovative Food Technology program for students with intellectual disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have high-quality teaching skills, knowledge of curriculum, and the ability to develop constructive relationships with students and colleagues.

Our school provides educational programs for primary and secondary school-aged students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities who may also have sensory, physical impairments, and autism spectrum disorder. We have a modern purpose-built facility providing an attractive and safe environment for learning.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, preparing, and teaching a Food Technology program that addresses individual student needs. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning, monitoring and assessing student learning data to inform teaching practices.

  • Delivery of Individualized Learning Plans - Demonstrated high-quality teaching skills and knowledge of curriculum to enable the implementation of individual learning plans that assist students with an intellectual disability to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Collaborative Teaching Practices - Demonstrated high-level classroom teaching skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.
  • Student Data Analysis - Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning data and to use this data to inform teaching for improved student learning.
  • Effective Communication - Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents, and other staff.
  • Program Planning and Delivery - Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver a Food Technology program.
