About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Exercise Physiologist to join our team, working 2 days per week from either our Wembley or Joondalup clinics.

As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day coordination and delivery of the Exercise Medicine Services in our clinics.

You will provide guidance and support to people with a prescribed exercise programme as part of their cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualised exercise programs to patients, assisting them to engage in exercise during treatment and beyond.
  • Demonstrate an empathetic understanding regarding the benefits of and potential barriers to exercise during and after cancer treatment.
  • Provide follow-up information to patients interested in exercise in a timely manner, answering questions and alleviating concerns where appropriate.
  • Design and execute individual exercise prescriptions and transition plans for patients based on their medical history and other relevant personal characteristics.
  • Maintain detailed records and provide timely communications to all relevant clinicians.
  • Oversee the physical space of the exercise clinic.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology with ESSA Accreditation.
  • CPR & Current First Aid.
  • Previous exercise oncology experience (desirable).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to develop appropriate exercise programs for people with a wide range of physical capabilities.
  • Genuine passion for the patients and the responsibilities of the role.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience communicating and reporting to other health and medical professionals (desirable).
  • Demonstrated understanding of principles of behaviour change and ability to utilise those principles to appropriately guide people to engage in exercise (desirable).
