Diagnostic Scientist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Scientist to join our Molecular Pathology team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our laboratory.

The successful applicant will have a degree in a relevant scientific discipline and experience in microbiology, molecular microbiology, or molecular genetics techniques. They will also possess good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a busy and motivated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of diagnostic medical laboratory techniques
  • Uphold quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures
  • Comply with occupational health and safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others in the workplace
  • Satisfy customer requirements through the provision of reliable and efficient service levels
  • Train other staff as required
  • Maintain professional self-development through attendance at scientific meetings, reviewing scientific journals and preparing and delivering continuing education presentations at staff meetings
