Job Overview

This is a casual opportunity working 7am - 7pm with availability to work at least 1-3 shifts a fortnight. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting Food Service delivery at Uniting AgeWell Sandy Bay.

As an Aged Care Food Service Specialist, you will provide a service in accordance with the current planned menu and requirements of the Food Safety Program. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food preparation and food service areas
  • Serving residents meals in dining hall services and trolley service to rooms, washing dishes, sandwich making, providing cups of tea or coffee to residents and their visitors
  • Providing feedback regarding residents' likes and dislikes regarding menu planning and escalating any observations or concerns in residents conditions
  • Promoting and participating in quality activities, and providing outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with residents, their relatives and friends
  • Supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience and expertise working in food service; preferably in a health, hotel or aged care setting
  • Casual opportunity working 7am - 7pm with availability to work at least 1-3 shifts a fortnight
  • The ability to work at a fast pace as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide a high standard of service
  • The initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • The ability to thrive in a team environment and appreciate one-to-one interactions
  • A commitment to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
Essentials for Working in Aged Care

Please note that you will be required to possess:

  • A current Working With Children Check card / Vulnerable People card
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • The ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
