About the Role:

The Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program aims to reduce crash severity and frequency, particularly between Gympie and Cairns, through infrastructure improvements. The initiative involves wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking, intersection upgrades, rest areas, pavement strengthening, overtaking lanes, and narrow structure upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of professionals to deliver the program according to TMR requirements and industry best-practice.
  2. Manage stakeholder engagement for the program with key government agencies and provide specialist advice to senior management.
  3. Identify and harness necessary expertise to deliver program objectives by creating a high-performing team.
  4. Collaborate with broader BHTSP teams across the state to ensure consistency of delivery and technical practices.
  5. Investigate, manage and resolve complex engineering and contractual issues associated with the program.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills with experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
