As a leader in software development, you will oversee the creation of high-quality software solutions that meet client needs.


The ideal candidate will have experience in Defence or mission-critical systems and excel at building team capability and delivering results in fast-paced environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, support, and deliver software products as part of a program discipline.
  • Evaluate software to ensure it meets quality standards by applying quality processes, configuration management, and state-of-the-art software engineering techniques.
  • Develop and implement an architectural approach for project software, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure scalable, maintainable, and robust solutions.
  • Establish and maintain a unified software development environment and toolset to enable efficient output from the development team.
  • Leverage Digital Engineering capabilities to improve development efficiency and capability.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure software aligns with allocated system requirements and adheres to relevant standards and expectations.
  • Mentor a team of software engineers, promoting collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Promote best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Oversee requirements validation and verification, participating in testing and defect resolution while identifying and managing technical risks.
  • Support customer engagement activities and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership.
  • Demonstrate expertise in reducing technical debt, improving system performance, and ensuring alignment of all software development activities with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
