Embedded Linux Software Leader

Redefine the future of embedded Linux experience with the smallest, most secure, and reliable operating system in the IoT market. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced technical leader to shape the future of Linux from small systems up to desktops.

This challenging role demands a high degree of technical and management skill. You will lead a team of strong software developers to design and implement Ubuntu Core system software on various CPU architectures such as ARM, RISC-V, and X86. Your responsibilities include meeting stakeholders, prioritizing requests, planning the roadmap, and ensuring the team can deliver their goals.

You will have the opportunity to influence the company culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on strategy and execution. Key areas of focus include building and leading a distributed team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.

  • Develop and execute plans to improve software quality and efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on technology trends and best practices.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes through innovative solutions.

We are seeking an exceptional leader who loves technology and working with brilliant people. The ideal candidate has a track record of developing and growing people, is knowledgeable and passionate about software development, and has experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers.

The successful candidate will have solid experience working in an agile development environment, be comfortable planning and executing to deliver timely, high-quality software, and have a Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field. Additionally, they should have experience with embedded software, Golang, C/C++, and Shell, as well as a solid understanding of Linux and modern GNU/Linux distributions such as Debian or Ubuntu.
