Job Description

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Cooma, NSW. This temporary full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic laboratory environment and contribute to the delivery of essential diagnostic services.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities, including coordination and provision of scientific and technical training, review and development of laboratory practices, and quality management to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a range of operational laboratory activities, including coordination and provision of scientific and technical training.
  • Review and develop laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures.
  • Provide high-quality customer service and communicate effectively with customers, patients, and clinical and laboratory staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services relevant to the laboratory, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Control Systems.
  • Customer-focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
