About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a temporary Full Time position in Cooma, located in the picturesque Snowy Mountains region.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver operational laboratory activities, including coordination and provision of scientific and technical training, review, development, and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
  2. Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services relevant to the laboratory, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Control Systems and computer programs such as Microsoft Office suite.
  4. Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills, including report writing skills and statistical evaluation of scientific data.
  5. Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner, manage competing priorities to meet deadlines, and contribute to a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the laboratory.
