Clinical Nurse Consultant Role

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our team of mental health professionals working within the Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) at Prince of Wales Hospital. Our service has recently relocated to the new Acute Services Building and is looking to expand its team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing patients presenting with acute mental health symptoms, co-morbid physical and mental health difficulties, and those in acute crisis situations requiring a mental health assessment. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health assessments, develop immediate management plans and strategies, and contribute to best practice principles.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health assessments, including formulation and development of immediate management plans and strategies
- Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in a mental health specialty
- Sound knowledge and experience of assessing persons within an acute environment
- Demonstrated understanding of nursing processes and their contributions to best practice principles

Selection Criteria
- Must address the below questions as thoroughly as possible: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA), minimum 5 years post-registration experience in a mental health specialty, sound knowledge and experience of assessing persons within an acute environment, demonstrated understanding of nursing processes and their contributions to best practice principles, clinical leadership skills, ability to conduct a thorough mental health assessment, proficiency in standard office software, excellent verbal communication skills.
