Apprentice Carpenter Job Description

We are seeking skilled individuals to participate in a carpentry apprenticeship program. This role involves mastering the art of building homes and gaining experience in project completion.

As an apprentice, you will engage in diverse projects, including new home constructions, renovations, and commercial ventures.

  • Work full-time (38 hours/week)
  • Undertake training with host employers to become trade qualified within 4 years

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. With guidance from experienced professionals, you will:

  • Construct wall and ceiling frames, pitched roofs, eaves, and external stairs
  • Lay sub-flooring and floorboards
  • Execute tasks like nailing fascia panels, fitting exterior cladding, and assembling door and window frames
  • Utilize hand and power tools, perform calculations, and may construct concrete formwork
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrate interest and commitment to the construction industry
  • Possess a white card or be able to obtain one promptly
  • Hold a current driver's license and own reliable transportation
  • Certificate I or II in Construction is advantageous; prior construction experience preferred
  • Be physically fit, self-disciplined, detail-oriented, reliable, and motivated
  • Exhibit capacity to follow direction and prioritize safety
