Senior Insurance Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our dynamic team.

About the Role

As a Senior Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of insurance matters, including providing advice to insurers on cover, managing litigation, and preparing briefs for hearings.

  • Provide expert advice to insurers on complex insurance matters
  • Manage and coordinate litigation, including document management, correspondence with opposing solicitors, and court attendances
  • Prepare and present briefs for hearings, working closely with counsel
Responsibilities
  • Retain expert witnesses and finalize witness reports, as well as interview lay witnesses and prepare drafts of lay witness statements
  • Correspond with clients, insured and insurers, to obtain instructions and provide updates
  • Maintain accurate records, including client portals and coverage Counsel interactions
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of workshops and training sessions
  • Collaborate with senior practitioners and other team members to achieve business goals
  • Coach and mentor junior lawyers to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Support graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotations, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Develop and implement strategies to retain and grow business
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Law, with a current Practising Certificate for relevant jurisdiction
  • At least 5 years of experience in PAE roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes
  • Highly organized, with effective file management and time recording practices
  • Customer-focused, with a track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and peers
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a passion for sharing knowledge and upskilling junior lawyers
