About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineering Team Lead to join our Sydney Buildings team. As a technical and business leader, you will be responsible for influencing the design and project delivery of all projects assigned to you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake structural engineering assessments and calculations for the detailed structural design of buildings.
  • Assist the structural team in successfully completing projects, focusing on program, documentation, profitability, technical aspects, risk management, and client satisfaction.
  • Provide technical competence in the planning and design of complex projects.
  • Correspond with clients and stakeholders, including local authorities, government bodies, and commercial companies.
  • Prioritize workloads while ensuring client needs are met and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and international team members.
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with high-quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Represent Stantec externally, playing a senior and active role in managing client relationships.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Engineers Australia (NER) registration.
  • Qualified Design Building Practitioner (DBP) certification.
  • Demonstrated structural design experience in buildings, preferably in engineering consultancy.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Structural software knowledge of RAM Concept and ETABS.
  • Knowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing.
  • Business development, client, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Knowledge and capability across post-tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
