Naval Combat Systems Integration Role

The purpose of this position is to deliver technical expertise in the integration of combat and communication systems on naval vessels.

This involves working within the Naval Design and Engineering Centre in Melbourne, Docklands office.

As a Senior Combat Systems Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing extensive knowledge and experience of functional and detailed design related to Combat and Communication Systems.
  • Undertaking technical investigations, root cause analysis, and solution identification.
  • Integrating combat and communication systems on naval vessels.
  • Delivering technical reports and documentation in accordance with established standards.
  • Performing detailed design and 3D modeling for combat and communication systems.
  • Engaging with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.
  • Planning and coordinating assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery.

You will also have the opportunity to work on exciting new naval ship designs, alongside industry leaders and like-minded engineers.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics or related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in Engineering preferably in a Defence environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of combat and communication systems.
  • Knowledge of 2D CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation) to produce design information.
  • Competent in the understanding of, and development of, engineering documentation and drawings.
  • Able to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.
  • An Australian Citizen holding or eligible for an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of NV1.
