Senior Systems Integration Engineer

Due to Navantia Australia's ongoing success in delivering specialised Engineering Services to the Royal Australian Navy, we are growing considerably and have exciting opportunities for experienced Senior Combat Systems Engineers to join the Naval Design and Engineering Centre in its Melbourne, Docklands office. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a successful multi-disciplined Engineering team and work alongside industry leaders and like-minded engineers on exciting new naval ship designs.

As the Combat Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for working within the Combat Systems division to deliver technical investigations and support in the development of work orders for naval projects.

In this role, you will:

1. Provide experience and broad technical knowledge of functional and detailed design related to Combat and Communication Systems on naval ships.
2. Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.
3. Integrate combat and communication systems on naval vessels.
4. Deliver technical reports and technical documentation in accordance with established Navantia and customer standards.
5. Perform detailed design and 3D modeling for combat and communication systems.
6. Work effectively within the broader Navantia Engineering Team to engage with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.
7. Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery, including the development of project plans, schedules and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
8. Plan and administrate design coordination meetings with engineering project stakeholders.
9. Plan and administrate Design Review meetings with the Client.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

1. Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics or related discipline.
2. 3-5 years' experience in Engineering preferably in a Defence environment.
3. Demonstrated understanding of combat and communication systems.
4. Knowledge of 2D CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation) to produce design information.
5. Competent in the understanding of, and development of, engineering documentation and engineering drawings.
6. Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
7. Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.
8. Australian Citizen holding or eligible for an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of NV1.
