At Cumberland City Council, we're dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children and their families.

We're seeking an Early Childhood Educator with a passion for empowering young minds. As a key member of our Education and Care team, you'll play a vital role in developing and implementing innovative programs that promote learning, growth, and development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Planning and implementing educational programs that cater to diverse learning needs
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment

Requirements include:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
  • Valid Working with Children Check Clearance Number
  • Child Protection course approved by the NSW Regulatory Authority (or willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Certificate as approved by ACECQA (or willing to obtain)
  • Proven skills and experience in education, customer service, communication, computer operating systems, and time management

The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of child protection legislation, national quality frameworks, and early years learning frameworks.

About This Role

This is a full-time position with a fixed-term contract up to 6 months. The working hours are 70 per fortnight, with core hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. You may be required to work across various locations within the council.
