Clinical Risk Expert for the Limestone Coast

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse/Midwife Consultant to lead clinical risk management initiatives in the Limestone Coast region. The successful candidate will drive improvements in patient safety and care outcomes across our network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the implementation of clinical risk strategies across the Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN), ensuring effective outcomes in line with organisational objectives.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and advice to nursing and midwifery teams, medical officers, executives, quality, risk & safety teams, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and lead projects and programs that enhance patient, client, and service outcomes.
  • Manage and provide medico-legal advice to the LCLHN, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk minimisation.
  • Facilitate the investigation and management of adverse events, collaborating with relevant stakeholders, including clinical staff, patients, and consumers, to develop corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with excellent communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Autonomy & Innovation: The ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy, bringing creative and innovative solutions to complex clinical risks.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and promote consumer engagement initiatives.
