About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Trade Management team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our major retail client in their supply chain/logistics for specialty imported products into Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Operational Excellence
    • Develop a deep understanding of international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders.
    • Proactively report product availability issues and provide timely solutions.
    • Support inventory management, including reporting, inventory parameters, and product life cycle management.
    • Process sales orders, maintain purchase order status, and shipment tracking information.
    • Liaise with overseas suppliers, 3PL warehouses, and global forwarding agents.
    • Manage external relationships with 3rd party stakeholders, including warehouses and transport carriers.
    • Produce ad-hoc reporting on functions within the Supply Chain network.
  • Facilitate Relationships
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, responding timely and effectively to their needs.
    • Communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with customers, agents, C.H. Robinson offices, and outside vendors.
    • Promote a positive working relationship among team members.
    • Participate in new customer implementations and business meetings as needed.
  • Other Activities
    • Ensure customer SOPs are maintained and adhered to.
    • Work according to organizational, local, and global laws, regulations, and procedures.
    • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to team and/or country-specific requirements.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Graduate degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2-4 years of logistics or supply chain experience.
    • Purchasing or buyer experience in a retail or FMCG environment.
  • Skills
    • Tertiary qualification in logistics or supply chain business discipline.
    • Proven track record of dealing with customers and being client-focused.
    • High attention to detail, critical-thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
