Job Title: Senior Duty Lawyer Coordinator
Duty Lawyer Program AdministrationThe successful applicant will be responsible for administering the duty lawyer program in Queensland, including procuring services by tender, developing and implementing policies, and providing advice to suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate the duty lawyer program in Queensland and provide advice and recommendations to stakeholders regarding duty lawyer services.
- Provide advice to suppliers on matters such as service requirements, supplier performance, and business relationships.
- Collaborate with Magistrates/court staff to ensure the provision of effective duty lawyer services.
- Oversee the duty lawyer accreditation process.
- Experience in policy development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure effective delivery of professional services.
- Contract management, tender processes, and procurement expertise relevant to the legal service industry.
- Excellent communication skills to prepare clear, concise reports and presentations.
- Knowledge of the Queensland Magistrates Court criminal jurisdiction, systems, and procedures, as well as the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines.
