Edge Platform Specialist

We are seeking an experienced edge platform specialist to lead our development team in Brisbane, Australia. In this role, you will design, architect, and implement edge computing services that meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Development:
    • Design and implement edge computing services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
    • Lead the technical design and implementation of edge platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
    • Support the operations team with investigation and reproduction of customer issues related to edge platforms.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Promote a culture of innovation and excellence within the development team, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
    • Mentor junior developers in the latest edge platform technologies and best practices.
    • Work closely with the product owner to set direction for the team, aligning with business objectives.
  • Product Development Support:
    • Interface with product management and developers to define and improve requirements and automated test cases for edge platforms.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining edge/embedded software on Linux or other Unix-like OS.
  • Experience with Ubuntu Core and Snaps is beneficial.
  • Strong C++ background, with Python experience a plus.
  • Experience developing microservices using asynchronous messaging technologies such as ZeroMQ or ActiveMQ.
  • Experience interfacing embedded software with cloud services like Azure IoT Hub.
