Senior Governance Professional

The role of a senior governance professional in an investment management and technology business is to redefine how people engage with financial products and services. With a focus on simplifying wealth management, they deliver managed funds, model portfolios and tailored solutions to the advised retail market.

This senior role is responsible for overseeing governance frameworks, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance functions that underpin the business and its Responsible Entity (RE).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Company Secretary, supporting the Board and Committees with governance, records, and reporting
  • Lead and enhance GRC frameworks, ensuring compliance with ASIC regulations, AFSL conditions, and RE obligations
  • Drive risk management, including policy reviews, control testing, and regulatory reporting
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and external compliance partners
  • Provide strategic guidance to the Board and Executive team on governance, risk, and compliance matters
  • Promote a strong risk culture and mentor teams to embed policies into daily practice

Ideal Qualifications & Attributes:

  • 10+ years' experience in governance, risk, and compliance within funds management, REs, or financial services
  • Deep knowledge of Australian financial services law, the Corporations Act, ASIC requirements, and AFSL obligations
  • Previous Company Secretary experience with a track record of building robust GRC frameworks in scaling environments
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Commercially pragmatic, balancing compliance obligations with business strategy
  • Collaborative and adaptable, thriving in entrepreneurial, fast-growing settings
