Job Title: Environmental Policy Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Policy Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering legislation related to environmental matters, providing technical advice, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage compliance and enforcement functions across the Territory, focusing on land clearing under the Planning Act 1999.
  • Develop and implement environmental compliance programs, including guidelines, codes of practice, and fact sheets on native vegetation management.
  • Exercise responsibilities as an Authorised Officer under the Planning Act 1999 regarding native vegetation management and conduct site inspections to assess compliance.

Requirements:

  • High-level experience in administering legislation and providing advice on environmental matters.
  • Experience in conducting regulatory investigations and project management skills, including planning, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective networks.
  • A degree in natural resource management, environmental science, or a related qualification, and a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar.
