IT Service Desk Support Specialist

This position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with diverse stakeholders across multiple contact channels and sites. As the primary point of contact, you will be responsible for providing professional first-level and some second-level IT support to effectively respond to incidents, problems, and service requests within established service agreements, operating targets, standards, agreements, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain business continuity of critical business activities in the event of an unplanned disruption, including disaster or events.
- Provide effective professional first-level and some second-level IT support by managing request types (incident, problem, requests) end-to-end following standard ITIL processes; providing technical troubleshooting and resolution of complex problems using investigative techniques; educating customers; and providing timely escalation where required/appropriate.
- Administer effective security management processes for system access to safeguard client data and assets.
- Categorize and record all incidents/requests efficiently and correctly and identify opportunities for business/process improvement based on recurring issues/trends/observations from incidents/requests captured.
- Ensure services are delivered as per the Service Catalogue, service targets, and service level agreements.
- Assist in maintaining a detailed asset register of all IT hardware, application software, and peripheral equipment to maintain organization's IT asset records.
- Contribute to developing an internal knowledge base and assist to promote and increase self-service capability availability.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in IT or relevant disciplines.
- Formal qualifications/experience in Service Management (e.g., ITIL).
- At least three years' experience in a similar or related IT Service Desk role, with excellent knowledge of IT theory, practice, and industry standards particularly relating to IT Service Desk functions.
- Expert knowledge/experience in ITIL principles, ServiceNow, Microsoft Windows and management tools; Windows Domain environments employing Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory Services; remote desktop tools; PC hardware/peripherals; software deployment technologies/products like Microsoft SCCM; local/wide area networking technologies; VMWare infrastructure systems/management tools; Android/Apple mobile technology; and security-related technologies.
- Strong communication skills/demonstrated experience communicating with diverse stakeholders to achieve quality customer outcomes and educate/capacity build.
- Ability to apply creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technologies/integrating diverse user systems.
- A current Queensland 'C' Class Driver's Licence.

The estimated salary range for this position is AU$70,000 - AU$90,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
