">Key Responsibilities for a Mechanical Fitter

The primary objective of this role is to perform comprehensive mechanical overhaul, testing, and certification of air brake components used in diesel-electric locomotives.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Execute thorough overhaul, testing, and certification of air brake components
  • Detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
  • Interpret technical drawings and adhere to strict maintenance procedures
  • Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation

About You:

  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on workshop experience
  • Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components
  • Pneumatic systems understanding advantageous

We Offer:

  • $52.00 per hour + super + overtime
  • Monday to Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • Temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on workshop experience
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow strict maintenance procedures
