Senior Rehabilitation Counsellor

This role offers a unique blend of autonomy and teamwork, allowing you to manage your day while being part of a strong, close-knit team of driven healthcare professionals.

As a Senior Rehabilitation Counsellor, you will provide occupational rehabilitation services to clients with various physical and psychological conditions. Your primary goal will be to support them in achieving return to health and work outcomes.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Case management with manageable caseloads and the support of Rehabilitation Assistants for administrative tasks;
  • Mentoring, coaching, and supervising consultants to achieve service delivery, customer service, and billable minimum threshold goals;
  • Applying clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes;
  • Working with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs;
  • Collaborating with injured workers, employers, medical, and allied health professionals;
  • Working across various schemes such as workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs;
  • Assisting those with an injury or health condition to achieve return to health and work outcomes;
  • Completing assessments using clinical skills, including initial, workplace, and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment, and identify suitable employment opportunities.

To succeed in this role, you will be a driven professional with the following qualities:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Rehabilitation Counselling;
  • Full ASORC Membership;
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation;
  • Fabulous communication skills;
  • Compassion and kindness;
  • Effective time management skills;
  • A current QLD Driver's License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance.
