Galapagos Island Conservation Initiative

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our team in the Galapagos Islands. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in sustainable agriculture, food systems, and conservation.

About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who share our passion for sustainable agriculture, food systems, and conservation. You will be working in a unique ecosystem, contributing to the protection of this beautiful island.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain vegetable seedbeds
  • Assist with seed germination processes and take care of seed banks
  • Construct apparatuses and design new permaculture systems
  • Assist with garden maintenance by weeding, excavating, making compost, pruning, and applying natural fertilizers
  • Reforest native or endemic plants
  • Conduct personal research on water use and conservation, improvement of soil texture, and improvement of soil nutrients
  • Support farm marketing and social media
  • Conduct language tutoring exchanges with staff and community members
About You

To be eligible for this program, you must have a strong interest in sustainable agriculture, food systems, and conservation, as well as basic knowledge of English and/or Spanish. You should also be able to adapt to a rural environment.
