Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join our team as we deliver the main construction contract for the Newell Highway upgrade.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify project risks, monitor safe and at-risk behaviours and develop SWMS and complete Task Hazard Review Cards and Permit to Work Forms
  • Assist in conducting toolbox talks, pre-start contents and set up KPIs to ensure Project teams are adequately trained to perform their health and safety responsibilities
  • Create and enter basic reports into the HSEQ System and explain Health & Safety contractual/legal requirements of subcontractors on site
  • Motivate line managers and supervisors in H&S leadership through the support and transfer of skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a previous Safety Admin/coordination role with working knowledge ideally within the civil construction industry and Chain of Responsibility requirements
  • Dynamic communicator who can build a strong relationship with project stakeholders at all levels
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health, Safety and Environment Act & Regulations (AS/NZS 4801 & ISO 14001) and Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act
