This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about swimming, enjoy working with children, and wish to impart essential swimming skills and the importance of water safety.

Position Overview

As a Swimming Coach, you will be responsible for delivering effective swimming and water safety instruction to enhance our aquatic program. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends is essential, along with a compassionate approach to the needs of your classes.

A genuine enthusiasm for swimming and a commitment to making children safer around water is crucial. Candidates should possess an energetic, engaging, and fun demeanor, with a natural affinity for working with young learners. Outstanding communication skills and a dedication to exceptional customer service are necessary to ensure that swim school participants, their families, and patrons derive maximum enjoyment and benefit from our offerings.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and engage with students of varying ages, abilities, cultures, and needs.

Availability to work Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm or Sundays from 8 am to 12 pm is required. Weekday shifts may include: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12 pm or 4 pm to 7 pm.

  • Current First Aid (Level 2) & CPR Certification (Provided)
  • Working With Children Check (or equivalent) & National Police Check
  • Current Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Certification (Provided)
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics (Desirable)
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics Access and Inclusion (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory
