Leading Coal Sample Preparation Specialist

At our esteemed organization, we have a unique opportunity for a skilled Coal Technician to join our team on a casual basis in Paget, QLD.
This hands-on role will require you to deliver accurate and timely preparation and analysis of coal and related samples, adhering to recognized international standards.
- Ensure the accuracy, precision, and traceability of samples with timely completion of tasks.
- Assist with preventative maintenance of preparation equipment and maintain a safety-aware environment.
- Use basic CCLAS for sample booking and analysis.
- Communicate effectively with previous and following shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform routine and project sampling, preparation, and analysis.
- Plan shift workflow and coordinate sample pick-ups and analysis.
- Be available for shift work with reasonable notice.
- Work across testing, sampling, and analytical areas as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment, including participating in site housekeeping and occasional special clean-ups.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Coal sampling, preparation and testing experience preferred, but not essential.
- Good computer skills, Excel proficiency beneficial and previous experience with data management programs (highly regarded).
- Previous experience in general mineral laboratory environment preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to work on rotating shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines.

Knowledge of laboratory procedures and practices is also an advantage.
