Job Role Summary

The Academic Teacher position combines teaching, unit coordination, and program support to deliver high-quality tertiary education. As a key member of the academic team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of educational programs at Curtin College.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unit Coordinator Tasks:
    • Develop the Unit Outline, Assessment Guide, and Marking guides/rubric.
    • Adapt teaching materials, such as lesson plans and weekly content, to suit the college student cohort.
    • Create lectures and tutorial slides, ensuring alignment with learning objectives.
    • Maintain Moodle pages with updated learning materials.
  • Teaching Responsibilities:
    • Deliver lectures and tutorials for assigned units.
    • Provide academic support and guidance to students through consultations.
    • Mark assessments and participate in moderation processes to ensure consistency.
    • Respond to assessment appeals and review student results when necessary.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate should hold tertiary qualifications at a postgraduate level or higher in a relevant discipline area, preferably Marketing, Economics, or Communication from a business perspective, aligned to the Diploma of Commerce curriculum. A minimum of two years' teaching experience in higher education or a pathway college environment at AQF Level 5 or above is also required.
