Financial Crime Analyst Job Description

This is a pivotal role within our organization, centered around investigating and mitigating financial crimes.

As a Financial Crime Analyst, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Investigating and escalating daily AML Transaction, Trade, and Customer Screening alerts in a timely manner
  • Conducting thorough Customer Due Diligence, including Enhanced Due Diligence of high-risk customers and Ongoing Due Diligence of our clients
  • Maintaining effective correspondence with various stakeholders, including Operations and Front Office teams
  • Providing support for AML-related projects and initiatives as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction monitoring: Identify suspicious transactions and alert management to mitigate potential risks
  • Client Risk rating: Conduct real-time assessments to identify high-risk clients and escalate them to the AML/CTF Compliance Officer
  • Alert management: Work independently to manage multiple tasks, maintain records, and make timely decisions

Requirements:

We seek individuals with 1-3 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry or with a regulator. Essential skills include:

  • A good understanding of key AML/CTF obligations and requirements
  • The ability to apply AML principles in practical scenarios to support compliance
  • Relevant AML certifications, such as ACAMS AML Certification, or work experience are highly desirable

A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Management, Finance, or Law is also desirable.
