Position Overview

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Permanent Fugal Operator at Invicta Mill. This role requires commitment to continuous shift work, including weekends and potential overtime during the Crushing Season (June - December). During the Maintenance Season (January - May), the position primarily involves day shifts with regular days off on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery to produce Raw Sugar and C seed/magma, ensuring adherence to quality specifications.
  • Maintain operational efficiency by preventing delays in pan stage processes.
  • Conduct sampling, inspection, and basic analysis of sugar and molasses, keeping accurate records.
  • Efficiently separate sugar from molasses while minimizing losses.
  • Remelt C sugar as required to meet production needs.
  • Monitor syrup/magma/massecuite stocks and communicate any irregularities to relevant personnel.
  • Perform regular inspections of equipment and submit maintenance requests as necessary.
  • Complete required documentation, including log books and data collection for management.
  • Collaborate with Pan Boilers, Shift Leaders, and other team members as needed.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization around the fugal station.
  • Provide on-the-job training and support for employees in structured training programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commitment to continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to mentor and support team members.
  • Dedication to following processes and achieving set targets.
  • Experience in the sugar industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications such as HRWL for Rigging, Dogging, Scaffolding (or willingness to obtain) and/or trade skills.
  • A strong willingness to acquire additional skills and competencies as required.
