Disability Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Disability Support Specialist to provide person-centred support services that empower individuals with disability to achieve their potential and live the life they choose.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support services to persons with disability
  • Empower clients to achieve their goals and aspirations
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to supporting and empowering customers
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Australian citizenship or right to work in Australia
  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Personal Care or above
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • First Aid Certificate HLTAID011 or HLTAID012
  • CPR Certificate HLTAID009
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Disability Support Worker
  • Experience working in SIL house (preferred)
  • Experience assisting complex clients with behavioural issues
Other Certifications and Benefits:
  • NDIS Orientation Certificate
  • COVID-19 Infection Control
  • Manual Handling Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Medication Certificate (highly desirable)
  • Basic Food Handling Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Experience with Infection Control & Waste Management
Work Schedule and Environment:

Ongoing shifts, 24/7 roster, 6-8 hours shift, Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Sleepover

Licences and Certifications:
  • NDIS Clearance
  • First Aid Certification
  • CPR Certification
