Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Day Surgery Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our day surgery unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient admission, screening, and pre-operative preparation
  • Assisting doctors with treatment in the procedure room
  • Providing safe and effective recovery care to patients
  • Patient discharge - assessment of readiness and issue of post-operative instructions and medications
  • Safe handling and management of specimens, medications, antibiotics, and blood products (where applicable)
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Strong clinical experience as a registered Nurse/Midwife
  • Excellent customer service skills and a focus on patient care
  • A working with Children's Check (mandatory)
  • Experience in a variety of nursing areas such as midwifery, reproductive and female health, and/or infertility (preferable)
