Job Description

Job Title: Privacy and Cyber Law Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy and Cyber Law Specialist to join our team at Minter Ellison. As a key member of our Technology, Digital and Data team, you will work on complex privacy and data protection matters for both public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in achieving their business and policy objectives through expert advice on privacy and data protection laws.
  • Work on general privacy advisory, including Commonwealth and State laws, Spam Act, FOI, cyber advisory, and privacy impact assessments.
  • Provide data breach response and frontend contracting advice, drafting and negotiation.
  • Collaborate with our cyber and technology consulting teams to deliver high-quality services to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, peers, and industry experts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' post-admission experience.
  • Australia, UK, or NZ qualified.
  • Strong experience in privacy and data protection law.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to deliver quality, commercial, and pragmatic advice under pressure.
  • Strong advice and contract drafting skills.
  • Strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships.
  • Strong communication and relationship skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Interest in and willingness to contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Resilience and commitment to excellence.
