About the Role

Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking two highly skilled and experienced Project Managers to lead the coordination and delivery of a government-funded initiative in partnership with the TAFE network, industry, and government stakeholders.

The successful candidates will oversee internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring the successful and timely implementation of the government-endorsed plans while promoting best practices in project management within MP's delivery team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee project delivery within established timelines, ensuring effective prioritisation of tasks, risk identification and mitigation, issue escalation, and regular progress reporting.
  • Provide strategic advice to project delivery team and Manager of Industry Initiatives – Skills Labs, on progress planning, prioritisation, and risk management to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations and the successful delivery of the approved project plan.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules, addressing disruptions and restoring timelines where necessary.
  • Manage and maintain up-to-date project resources, including budgets, delivery plans, risk registers, and records, to facilitate effective audits and ensure accurate financial reporting and acquittal of government funds upon project completion.
  • Coordinate government reporting and prepare all required supporting documentation.
Requirements
  • Qualification in project management or equivalent experience and training in project coordination and management.
  • Proven experience managing multi-project programs to successful completion, preferably within government or tertiary education sectors.
  • Experience coordinating projects in government or tertiary education sector.
  • Strong skills in collecting, collating, and reporting project progress, including for government stakeholders.
