About the Role

The Support Profile & Pathways squad delivers an exceptional customer experience by building innovative self-help tools, creating streamlined user experiences, developing scalable systems, capturing and sharing customer insights, and working closely with the AI Assistant and Help Centre teams.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll take ownership of a rapidly growing domain focused on customer feedback and user research at Canva. You'll collaborate with team members to develop solutions that enable users to quickly resolve issues and close the loop.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Building services, tools, and frameworks that help rapidly and effectively solve user issues across multiple domains.
  2. Working closely with stakeholders and designers to create world-class support experiences.
  3. Collaborating within and across teams to create holistic solutions.
  4. Identifying and improving practices and methodologies for frontend and backend engineering.
  5. Finding opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements.
  6. Empowering and mentoring other engineers.
Your Qualifications
  1. Strong commercial experience developing complex, distributed applications writing services in Java.
  2. A proven track record of solving complex problems.
  3. Disciplined coding practices and experience with code reviews and pull requests.
  4. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  5. Ability to balance big-picture thinking and nailing the details.
